How can we make nautical tourism accessible to all?

Dream Yacht is one of the world’s pioneers in nautical tourism, with more than 40 spectacular sailing sites and a varied fleet that adapts to every traveler’s expectations.

Dream Yacht was founded by Loïc Bonnet in 2000, with 6 boats and a base in the Seychelles.
24 years later, Dream Yacht offers one of the most varied fleets in the world, with a vast choice of models and makes of sailing monohulls and catamarans, for voyages accessible to all.
Today, our 800 boats sail to over 40 destinations in 31 countries around the world.

Whatever your tastes, Dream Yacht offers sailing vacations for experienced sailors and novices alike.

Today we meet Alice Russeil, Dream Yacht’s European Marketing Manager, who answers Travel-Insight’s questions.

1 – Could you briefly introduce yourself and explain Dream Yacht’s mission?

Dream Yacht’s main mission is to make the sea accessible to everyone.
To achieve this, we offer several types of product: bareboat charters, for those who want to sail at their own pace and according to their own desires; skippered or fully-crewed cruises, for those who simply want to enjoy their vacation and take care of nothing; and cabin cruises, ideal for couples or duos who want to discover another way of traveling, while meeting other people.
On the other hand, Dream Yacht’s Rental Management Sales branch also enables those who wish to do so, to become the owner of a boat in the Dream Yacht fleet and, in addition to rental income, enjoy weeks of vacation all year round.

2 – What are your main lines of communication?

We communicate mainly via nautical journals and specialized websites, and are present at the world’s biggest boat shows.
We also have a strong presence on social networks and create a lot of content via our blogs and PR.
We’d like to open up our communications more to the tourist and general public, as most people don’t necessarily think they can go on a sailing vacation, even though we offer ideal packages even for those who don’t know how to sail at all.
It’s a real opportunity to try out a new type of vacation and discover destinations in a different way.

3 – What are your main targets?

It depends on the product concerned.
For bareboat charter, we still target sailors who already know the world of sailing and who already know us.
For the rest of our products, which are accessible to all, even those who have never sailed before, it can be from 35 to 65 years old. There’s no age limit for enjoying the sea, embarking on new adventures and discovering the world by sea.
We also target those who wish to benefit from an investment that combines financial interest and vacations via our management-rental programs.

4 – What are Dream Yacht’s strengths?

Offering vacations on the water that are accessible to all.
A new way of discovering a destination in a more sustainable way and in complete privacy on your own boat!
We give you the freedom to go where you want and discover different parts of the world by sea.

6 – Why did you choose to work with Travel-Insight to manage your press relations?

We’d known Travel Insight for several years, and they’re experts in tourism communications, with great projects and a wide address book, so when we thought of an agency to work with us, this was the team that immediately came to mind.

7 – Do you have any future projects to share with the press?

There are always projects in the pipeline, but we’ve just launched a new product called Sail Share, which lets you enjoy a sailing holiday with a professional skipper and hostess at a very affordable price, departing from Greece or Croatia.
A week’s vacation aboard a boat designed for sharing, with a private cabin for two and other duos on board to share the discovery of this country together, accompanied by a professional crew.
A great opportunity to meet new people!

8 – The final word?

Contact us if you’d like to find out more about our sailing vacations or management-rental programs, we’d be delighted to introduce you to a new way of discovering the world.
