How do you promote the strengths of an international hotel chain on the French market?

Interview with Erika Sordo, Corporate Marketing & PR Director.

For over 36 years, the Viva Resorts by Wyndham brand has established itself as a leading hotel brand in the Caribbean. Founded in 1987, the hotel group has developed its expertise in all-inclusive experiences and concepts, and successfully invested in 8 properties located on the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches. Thanks to its strengths and values, the hotel group offers personalized all-inclusive experiences that are constantly renewed.

Today, we cross the Atlantic to meet Erika Sordo, Corporate Marketing & PR Director, who answers Travel-Insight’s questions.

1 – Can you introduce yourself and explain the mission of Viva Resorts by Wyndham?

I’m Erika Sordo, Director of Marketing and Corporate Public Relations at Viva Resorts by Wyndham, and I’ve been part of the team for over 22 years. I lead the brand’s communications and marketing strategies on a local, regional and international scale, supporting North America, Latin America and Europe.

As for the mission of Viva Resorts by Wyndham, we offer our customers 8 all-inclusive hotels located in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Bahamas, all set on breathtaking beaches, with a varied gastronomic offering, unrivalled entertainment and an all-inclusive formula designed to satisfy everyone’s desires.

2 – What are your main lines of communication?

Our communication strategy is based above all on the many assets of our hotels, and on our daily commitment to providing quality services. We also emphasize our actions to protect the environment and the populations of the countries in which we operate, notably through the Wyndham Green program. All our
hotels are certified, and we are stepping up our efforts to gain new levels of certification.

3 – What are your main targets?

We target a wide range of travelers: families, couples, honeymooners, land and water sports enthusiasts, divers and more. In general, anyone looking for an all-inclusive vacation with quality service.

4 – What are the advantages of Viva Resorts by Wyndham?

Our hotels offer an unforgettable experience, with privileged locations on the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Bahamas, an all-inclusive formula with a 24-hour restaurant or snack offer, a wide range of activities and entertainment, an international staff to welcome guests from all over the world, water and land sports, a varied gastronomic offer, including
à la carte meals. And of course, our dedication to the environment with Wyndham Green certification.

5 – Can you tell us more about this Wyndham Green certification?

All our Viva Resorts by Wyndham hotels are certified by the Wyndham Green program and are committed to sustainable development and reducing their ecological footprint through environmentally-friendly initiatives. These include the reduction of emissions from our hotels, the implementation of energy efficiency projects and the use
of renewable energies, water conservation programs and the protection of biodiversity. Our hotels in Mexico recently achieved Wyndham Green level 3 certification, while our other hotels are either level 2 or level 1.

6 – Why did you choose to work with Travel-Insight to manage your press relations?

Having worked with Travel-Insight for several years to manage our social networks and digital communications, we also decided to entrust them with the management of our press relations. The teams are creative and dynamic, with extensive experience and expertise in the tourism industry.

7 – Do you have any future projects to share with the press?
We are currently working intensively on the opening of our new hotel in the north-east of the Dominican Republic: Viva Miches by Wyndham, scheduled for December 2024.
