2021 is a year full of new developments on the social networking scene.
New networks such as Clubhouse and Twitch have come to the fore, while the older ones continue to attract more and more users.
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Linkedin… let’s take a look at the social media news you won’t want to miss in recent weeks.
Facebook launches Hotline
Inspired by Clubhouse, Facebook’s latest addition to the Hotline app features audio, Q&A sessions and live video.
The Hotline application is currently only available on the web, in the USA and in beta version.
Creators can interact with their audience on specific topics.
Participants can ask questions live via audio or text, and can also take to the stage like Clubhouse.
Creators also have the option of activating their camera or staying with an audio-only broadcast.
New labels on Facebook pages
Facebook pages will begin to receive labels to enable users of the social network to better understand what type of content they are being offered, and thus determine whether or not a page is relevant to follow.
Different labels will be offered, such as “public personality”, “fan page” or “satirical page”.
In this way, Facebook hopes to avoid confusion that may be linked to the nature of the page, by immediately setting the context with the dedicated label.
Facebook Analytics to close on June 30
The Facebook group has announced the closure of its Facebook Analytics service as of June 30, 2021.
The data available in the Statistics section of Facebook pages will not be affected by this closure.
Rest assured, you’ll still be able to analyze data relating to shares, views, likes, post reach and post-generated interactions via 3 tools: the Facebook Business Suite, the Ads Manager and the Events Manager.

Inspired by TikTok, this feature is currently in a test version.
It will enable users to let their creative juices flow, and brands to try out new collaborations with creators.
Another new feature on Instagram is the ability to Live for up to 4 people.
The growing use of Live has prompted the social network to develop this feature to enable creators to be ever closer to their community and interact with several people on subjects.
Finally, Instagram has also announced that it will soon be possible to save drafts of Stories so that they can be published at a later date.
A feature that will come in very handy for our customers J
Youtube wants to hide the number of dislikes under videos
This is great news for content creators!
Youtube is currently testing the elimination of the number of dislikes under videos.
In concrete terms, only the number of “I don’t like” mentions will disappear, and viewers will still be able to click on the “I don’t like” button to express their dissatisfaction.
Creators, on the other hand, will still have access to the exact number of dislikes.
