Social media news for the 1st quarter 2022

Curious about the new social media trends for the first quarter of 2022? Well, in this article, you’ll find everything that’s new on your favorite social networks! There’s something for everyone, no one is spared 😉 So get your phones and computers ready, because after reading this article, there’s no excuse not to be on top of social media trends.

Instagram News

Instagram has made a strong start to 2022, with several changes that have not gone unnoticed.

It’s now possible to feature a live feed on your Instagram profile. Much more convenient for users, so they don’t miss out on anything from their favorite accounts. Thanks to this, when you go to a profile, you can see between the bio and Stories on the front page if a live is scheduled. If so, you can even set a reminder so you don’t miss it. Isn’t that great?

Another new feature – you may have noticed it when you were looking at your favorite stories on your phone – is that you can now like them! Liking a Story doesn’t send a private message, but simply shows interest and increases engagement. For those who don’t yet know how it works, a heart-shaped icon is located at the bottom right of a Story, between “send a message” and the share option. It couldn’t be simpler! You can do so discreetly, as your like is only visible to the person who posted the story.

Indeed, Instagram continues to focus more and more on videos, particularly Reels. The application is putting an end to IGTVs, bringing videos together on a single platform. Instagram wants to further develop monetization through ads in Reels. It’s pushing its users to use video while adopting short formats, favoring the vertical format, being regular, and creating unique videos. Now, on your smartphones, 3…2…1…roll!

TikTok news

You love spending time on TikTok, don’t you? Good thing we do too J After Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook, it’s TikTok that’s launching Stories very soon. The platform is developing this new feature and will integrate it into the “for you” tab, just like on other social networks. Stories will be available 24 hours a day. So you can’t wait?

TikTok is known for its short video format, but the app has decided otherwise. It’s now possible for users to create longer videos, up to 10 minutes long. A format that should convince Youtubers to position themselves on this year’s trendy social network. On the other hand, YouTube has not said its last word, and continues to develop its short format, which is very similar to TikTok.

But which of the two platforms will become the video leader? More on that later, so stay tuned 😉

Facebook news

Facebook wants to remain the world’s leading network, and to do so, it’s continuing to expand. This time, it’s Reels that are coming to Facebook, and yes, you don’t have to be on Instagram to publish a real one, you can design and monetize your videos on Facebook.

On this platform, Reels will be available in the “Watch” tab, you’ll also be able to share them in stories and see some in your feed. New tools are being created to help you make your own Reels as well as monetize them. Isn’t it about time we started making them?

Linkedin news

The platform wants to please its users even more, and to do so it wants to implement a number of improvements, such as offering much more detailed and explicit statistics on individual posts and overall performance according to audience and content. Today’s statistics are still too weak to convince users.

Linkedin is also planning to add a new laughing emoji to react to comments, to give users more choice of expression.

Twitter news

Twitter is trying to improve by releasing a new Toolbox, more powerful tools, which will promote the use of the network, thanks to several applications such as :

-Expression: to maximize the scheduling of tweets and threads

-Security: deleting malicious tweets

-Measurement: to better analyze all statistics

Users can use this Toolbox in the settings
